Learning outcomes:

During the course lifespan, participants will:

  • Learn how to use generative AI tools to create educational resources, such as quizzes, texts, and project ideas.
  • Understand the ethical challenges and implications of AI, including bias, data privacy, security, and its impact on critical thinking and creativity.
  • Develop strategies to teach students responsible AI usage, addressing ethical dilemmas such as plagiarism and the creation of fake content.
  • Design personalized lessons and activities that integrate AI tools, with examples across different disciplines.
  • Collaborate in group projects to create AI-supported teaching strategies, incorporating feedback and reflection from peers.
  • Formulate a personal action plan for integrating AI into their teaching practices.
  • Reflect on how to transfer the knowledge and skills gained during the course into their own institutions, fostering future cooperation with fellow participants.
Methodology

This course will employ an interactive and practical approach, combining theoretical lessons with practical activities that promote experiential learning.

Participants will have opportunities to practice the AI-related skills acquired in real-life scenarios.

Personal reflection moments are included each day to encourage a deeper connection with the topics covered.

Training usually takes place between 9 am and 14 pm, followed by (optional) after-class activities.

Introduction to the course

Day 2 | h 9.00 – 14.00

What is Artificial Intelligence? Basic concepts | Practical examples of AI use in various contexts (chatbots, content generation tools, etc.) | The role of AI in overcoming the “blank page syndrome.”

AI as a Practical Tool: Practical demonstrations on how to use generative AI tools to create educational resources (quizzes, texts, project ideas).

Sharing diverse practices and experiences and productive dialogue between participants.

Day 3 | h 9.00 – 14.00

Ethics, Challenges, and Awareness in AI Usage: AI Bias – how it arises and influences results | Data privacy and security | Impact of AI on critical thinking and creativity | Environmental impact.

Ethics in Teaching: developing strategies to teach students responsible AI usage.

Ethical Dilemmas: case studies where AI is misused by students (plagiarism, fake content creation).

Day 4 | h 9.00 – 14.00

Personalizing AI Usage: creating AI-Supported Lessons | How to design an activity or lesson that integrates AI tools | Examples of lessons in various disciplines supported by AI. Collaborative Project Design: in small groups to develop a specific teaching project | Cross-group feedback: sharing ideas and reflections.

Personal Action Plan: developing a personal action plan on how to integrate AI into our teaching| Final discussion: how to stay updated on AI skills and issues.

Optional farewell dinner.

Day 5 | h 9.30 – 13.00

Individual reflection: a roadmap to transfer the acquired knowledge and competencies into practice at the participants’ institutions and to cultivate contacts with other participants for future cooperation and exchange  |   Focus on the learning outcomes and Certificates delivery   |  Feedback: participants provide an assessment of the course and feedback about their experience   |   Participants departure

Trainers

anna uttaro

For the past decade, Anna has been teaching in adult education centers, focusing on environmental and digital transitions, while enhancing her expertise in creating learning tools for urban environments. Her experience includes participating in Erasmus+ exchanges and providing training activities to diverse groups of learners: from school-age children to university students and teachers. She has conducted research at various universities, specializing in community engagement and urban learning processes. With a background in urban planning, Anna also works in participatory process design, innovative learning methodologies, urban regeneration, and project management. She is committed to translating research into actionable policies for sustainable urban development.
