Perspektive

Launched in December 2023, the “Perspektive” Erasmus+ project (nr. 2023-1-DE02-KA220-ADU-000154378) aims to leverage the full development potential in the field of prisoner reintegration. It represents an opportunity not only to support prisons in their daily work at the local level but also to significantly contribute to peer learning among experts at the European level. Building on experience gained from previous projects such as STEPS, NEXT STEPS and Handwerk im Hafthaus, the partnership has established an international network comprising experts in public relations, psychology, economics and other fields, working together with prisons across various European countries.

Objectives

The PERSPEKTIVE project pursues the following objectives:

1. Prepare prisoners for their reintegration by strengthening and developing social skills, which are also of great importance for professional inclusion.
2. Enhance the employability potential of former prisoners.
3. Intensify cooperation among different institutions in the business practice sector and the penal system across various European countries.

Resulting tools 

• A Manual describing tested experiential education activities to strengthen job-related competencies of prisoners 
• The PERSPEKTIVE Magazine, containing a collection of reports, features, interviews and interesting information from the associated correctional facilities in Heinsberg, Izmir, Italy, Iceland, Larisa and Jilava.
• The PERSPEKTIVE Expert Network with European prisons towards an exchange on the working level around projects and activities in the prison environment.
