Techtex

With a well-established textile sector that employs over 200,000 individuals, Morocco boasts a highly developed textile industry. However, recognizing the potential for growth and increased international competitiveness, the focus is now shifting towards technical textiles—a high value-added sector with a distinct market advantage.

The TechTex partnership consists of 8 institutions with complementary profiles and expertise, including VETs, training centers, and industry-related profiles. The partners are from four EU Member States—Turkey, Spain, Greece, and Italy—as well as one non-EU country, Morocco.

The TechTex project aims to revamp Morocco’s vocational education and training (VET) landscape. By partnering with Moroccan VET institutions, TechTex seeks to modernize curricula, especially in textile engineering and technical textiles. Through innovative learning methodologies and knowledge sharing, this initiative will empower both trainers and students, fostering a culture of innovation and enhancing the global presence of Morocco’s technical textile sector.

Aiming to bridge the gap between current educational offerings and industry needs, TechTex will introduce virtual training modules through a MOOC format, supplemented by a flipped classroom approach, all accessible via a user-friendly digital platform. Additionally, a comprehensive train-the-trainer program will provide educators with best practices and tools, ensuring sustainable replication throughout the Moroccan textile ecosystem.
